The
Library
As the Zonal Health Resource Centre, CEDHA has a variety of
health information materials for health personnel. There are
about
about eleven
thousand copies of books, about twenty journal titles and
many newsletters. The main subjects covered are
Education [teaching and learning], Educational psychology,
Medical education, Primary health care, and Health
management. Others are medicine, microbiology,
nursing, laboratory science, pediatrics, obstetrics and
gynaecology, sanitation, surgery, pharmacy/pharmacology,
health economics, communication skills, health education,
etc.
The aim is to
improve access to health information for Continuous
Professional Development. This is realized through:
Identifying,
securing, producing, and distributing relevant health
learning materials.
Undertaking
information needs assessment to ensure that health learning
materials being collected are appropriate and up to date
according to current needs.
Supporting
districts to develop their own resource centres.
Training
district personnel in managing their resource centres.
Provide
consultancy and advisory service to those wishing to develop
resource centres outside the network.
